Macchia
Macchia is a small family run winery located at 7099 East Peltier Road, just outside Lodi, California. Our specialty is obviously Zinfandel, but our Italian varieties have won prestigious awards at all major competitions. The name Macchia comes from the Italian word “the spot”. We do not own any vineyards but rather source our grapes from of California’s “Best Spots”. Our sources range from the Sierra Foothills, and of course, several special vineyard designated spots in our hometown, Lodi.
We prefer quality over quantity; and our customers seem to agree. We consistently sell out of current releases; usually months before the next is due, but don’t worry we make more than ten different Zinfandels, up to five Italian wines, a Petite Sirah, Late Harvest and a Port. There is always something new to taste at Macchia. Our plan is to stay on the smaller side, so Tim (owner/winemaker) can over see each individual lot. He is very hands-on. “That’s why I got into the Business in the first place. I love the wine making part of the business. It is my Passion!” Just get Tim talking about wine and you will usually end up in the barrel room tasting some of his latest projects. Enjoy a glass of wine while playing boccie ball or horseshoes or find a picnic spot under the luscious 100 year old trees. We hope to see you here!
