Sicily is one of today's most exciting wine regions. Long a high-volume producer, it has evolved to captivate consumers and sommeliers with its white, red, sweet, and sparkling wines in the past twenty years.
The largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily's climate is similar to many California wine regions although its distinctive, native grape varieties and unique geography (think Mount Etna) make for some of the most unique wines in the world.
Join Fred Swan, Delta College Associate Professor of Wine Studies, writer, and sommelier on Friday, March 28, at the Lodi Wine Visitor Center (2545 West Turner Road, Lodi, 95242) for a 90- to 120-minute tasting of six wines from Sicily.
